Tuesday 19 Decenber

Donna's frozen rose is lovely ,we have had freezing fog the last two days ,and it has turned cold ,I took my library books back this afternoon ,and posted some more cards and it was very cold,my ears were stinging ,and I have just waved Maurice off to work, and  I could see my breath ,he will work tomorrow night then three days off ,then ,yes he is working over Christmas!

Well the cards are done and posted, the tree dressed as you can see from the pictures, every thing wrapped phew,I started last evening after Maurice left at about five thirty ,I was just about done at nine thirty, with a break for some supper ,but when you think I have nine Grandchildren there is plenty to wrap!

You will also see,a (blurry picture )of the Santa sleigh ,that came around the other night ,it was the Rotary club again ,and the President was the man who knocked on our door to collect, he told us this year that the money was to go to  Diabetes and Dr Barnarnos this year ,I mentioned that we all had the collecting boxes when we were young ,and that I had seen one when we visited Bodsey house in the Autumn,he said the man that lives there is a Rotarian ,and was himself a Barnardo boy !so in spite of him having a hard start ,he has done well ,as so many of them have .

My son Derek is coming up from Dorset ,on Thursday night ,he will stay over ,and we will all meet up ,a lovely family get together ,well as many as are able ,so you can imagine I am getting excited .I will have to get the batteries charged up ,for my camera .So now I am going to have my supper ,So have a good evening every one With Love From ...

Thankyou Donna, for my graphics today .

Lovely pictures Jan, it all looks so pretty.  We just had the rotary club come here, about five minutes ago and Mike got about 30 seconds video.  Mind you there are only two children down this street and I think they missed them. They do a great job.  Well done on getting all that wrapping down.  You sound so excited about your son, I know you will have a lovely time.

Mike will be working over Christmas as usual but most of the time I will have visitors for company, hope you won't be lonely when Maurice is away from home.

Hello Jan,

Lovely photos of your tree and the resident Santa.  Jim is working Christmas Day too but luckily he`ll be home at 1pm. We won`t be opening presents until he gets home so he won`t feel left out.  I hope you have a great time when your son arrives with his family, no wonder you are so excited. :o)

There was a white frost on the ground here this morning, but we are still above normal temps for us this time of year.  This afternoon the sun came out but it didn't warm up very much.  I know what you mean about have all those gifts for the grandchildren... they sure make Christmas  more exciting. All of us here really enjoy the children.  We do love to have them come for a visit. Your family get together will be a few days sooner than mine, I'm looking forward to pictures and I'll take plenty of mine too !  'On Ya' - ma

Sandra said in her journal they had freezing fog also. That will be nice having your son spend a few days with you. Your dressed tree is pretty and your other decorations also. I haven't decorated my computer screen but have put some decorations on top of the computer desk. Hugs, Helen

Sorry Maurice has to work on Christmas Day.  It reminds me of when I was little and my dad & grandmother worked for the railroad and unless it was their regular day off they had to work.  My dad worked the afternoon shift always and my grandmother worked the all night shift.  So sometimes we had dinner at 11am or 12 noon before my dad went to work. This year I'm cooking our family dinner on Friday (the 22nd) so will have the rest of the weekend free. Say Jan...I got an idea..lets go to a movie this weekend, one afternoon after Maurice goes to work.  Let me know..Linda in Washington

Your tree is pretty.  I never thought of tarting up my computer with decorations.  Would have made the place a bit less bare looking!

Santa on his sleigh always takes me by surprise and by the time I've found my bag and fumbled for change, dragged open my front door (which always sticks this time of year) the sleigh has gone :-(
Saw him in Ramsey at the weekend though and wondered if you had taken a photo Jan!
You must take one of the crafts/flower shop window if ever you can catch it when there's no condensation obscuring the view,  it is so beautiful.
Was just going to pop into Huntingdon - (it's Market Day) but the car won't start! :-( Brrr - it's cold here today, so here I am catching up on the Computer instead.
I received a card today, all the way from Sussex, without a stamp on it - good old Postie :-)

I'm reading backwards.  You must have been disappointed that you didn't get to see your son but in December the weather can never be predicted.  I got your card today, Jan.  It was lovely!  Thank you so much for thinking of me.  I swear next year I will get my cards mailed.  Love xx Chris
