Sunday Stuff and Sorry AOL !

This Graphic by Donna ,is so lovely,

look at all the animals behaving so well together ,for Santa ,

It seems I owe AOL ,an apology ,when I mentioned the other day ,I had found  an adult site in the box where my pictures should be  ,Jeff was very prompt getting back to me ,and pointed out that they wouldnt do that ,and suggested I do a virus scan  ,I did, so fingers crossed  ,he also asked me for a screen picture ,but when I went back to my journal the box ,and site and of course my pictures had all dissapeared .I have to say Jeff has been excellent, whenever I have emailed him ,he has answered me promptly ,I find that very reasuring ,and would like to put it on record ,especially since I'm amomg the first to moan if something is wrong ,So Im saying a public thankyou to Jeff .(journals editor)

As I read my way round all your entrys I see you are all  busy decorating your homes and Christmas trees ,well ,after tomorrow we will start to do ours ,wont do it before the eleventh of December ,as it is my second sons birthday ,Derek will be fourty five tomorrow ,and when they were small ,we always let him have his Birthday ,before starting on Christmas ,he lives with his wife Tricia and their three sons in Dorset ,I am hoping he will ring me tonight with plans for a visit before Christmas .

I bought a couple of books recently ,from the charity shop ,in our little town ,one entitled  A Fenland Christmas ,it is a complination of a number of writers ,among them a couple by dear Sybil Marshall ,an exerpt from The Nine tailors by Dorothy L Sayers ,the book starts off with a rather spooky ghost story ,that I might add ,here some time ,The other book is Elizabeth, a biography of her majesty the Queen ,by Sarah Bradford ,quite a big tome ,to be reading in bed ,they get heavy dont they ? but I'm sure Ill manage !  it says in the blurb ..that Sarah Bradford has come up with new confidential material ,throwing light on intimate family relationships and their effect on crises in the  family history, like the Princess Margaret_Peter Townsend affair and the break up of the Wales's marriage .It was published in 1996 ,but has lots of historical facts regarding the Royals ,so I am going to enjoy reading it .And still on the subject of the Royals,a report has been published stating that the chauffeur, driving the car in which Princess Dianna and Dodi sadly died had been drinking ...thus putting an end to all the speculations and accusations that have been flying around for nearly ten years now  hmmm !

Maurice is in bed at the minute he worked last night ,after he'd gone I cleared up all my ironing, whilst watching strictly come dancing ,I was sad to see Louisa voted off ,I have to knuckle down to day and write more Christmas cards ...and so dear friends have a blessed Sunday ,with love  from

Glad you got your problems sorted.  Jeff does not answer me anymore alas.  I am still having trouble with file manager, sometimes it works and others not but now I cannot get into alerts.  I went to delete a couple of journals and add a new one.  All I ever get is "this service is unavailable try later".  I reported it middle of last week but it seems nothing has been done.

We won't be putting ours up until next weekend. I like to do it the same weekend as the family Christmas drink. That is always the Sunday before the Sunday before Christmas. With Christmas day being a Monday it means that this year it is as late as it ever can be. I'm pleased about that because I seem to be dreadfully behind this year, although the worst year was when we moved house to South Wales on the 18th December. I didn't have a bean to spend until that day!!

Hope your picture problem is sorted now.

I think I had that same error page Jan with adult sites on! Glad it's all been put right now. Think I'd find adult sites too boring! Happy birthday to Derek for tomorrow. I hope you get to see him before Christmas. Have a good day in reading, nothing better in weather like this is there?! Jeannette xx

i will never believe EVER that Di died as they said she did. Even with proof. I have been fascinated by the Royals and Di my entire life. If you read any good juicy stuff, post it. Wow, your son will  be 45? My husband just turned 45. We MAY get our tree up today.
LOVE, lj

Have to say thank god for the report on Diana hopefully now we can forget all about her, never did like the woman. I have no respect for royalty with  their priviledge life and government handouts when there are people without a home or hot food in our so called civilized society. As for Christmas I am a traditionalist and will never put up decorations before 12th night ie 12th dec, I was brought up by a very supperstitious gipsy mother and just can't break the habit.

Anonymous said...

Jan, that is a lovely idea not putting your decorations up until Derek has his birthday! aw....love your graphic too so cute.....don't forget the scary story when you have time! lol Linda xx

When my son was little we never decorated 'til Xmas Eve.. Santa brought it all.  That has long since changed and decorations go up a bit earlier.  Don't come down until after Jan 6.  Happy Birthday Derek!!

I hope you have a grand Sunday and good luck on the decorating.  It's always fun to put up, but not so fun to put away again .  You did find some great books!  I love it when I find something like that !  My shelves are full of books .  I usually get out all the ones pertaining to Christmas and set them out for all to enjoy when they visit.  'On Ya' - ma

We are hoping to get our tree up today but have been moving our bedroom about and Stu is a bit knackered to put it mildly. Have a great day and hope you get your cards finished I hope to get mine finished today. Love Joan.

Your Christmas graphic is so pretty. Your books sounds like some interesting reading material. I thought they mentioned many years ago that the driver of Princess Dianna's car had been drinking. That was what I was thinking when I read the current report. Hope your day goes well. Hugs, Helen

Happy you got your probs sorted out. Jeff sometimes answers me, others he ignores me completely! I just hope they get all their problems worked through FAST.
My tiny tree will go up next week, don't know when son & family plan to put theirs up since I rarely get the chance to converse with them. :(
Books sound interesting. :) I enjoy reading but my old eyes are so bad, even with the bifocals I wear.
Have a good Sunday,

I don't put up my decorations until the last minute, and I can't have a tree as the cats destroy it!  But will be writing cards later, as I don't have any of your addresses ;-) I will wish A Happy Christmas to you all here on Jan's page as she has so many people who visit!
Best Wishes
Freda

conspiracy theorists didn't believe it when it first was reported years ago that the driver was well over the french and uk driving limit and i doubt they will now...They also weren't wearing seatbelts...The only person who was survived the crash...Jan do you run a virus check daily??? If you don't then i think you should...The anti virus programme i use runs as soon as i switch my PC on every day...Check for spyware too but i said that the other day LOL...Might put up me decorations next weekend  Caff xxxxx

I'm glad the official confirmation is there - that Henri Paul was drunk and was speeding. I'm also glad to read that Jeff has been helpful, that's great :-)

Anonymous said...

After reading Caff's comment thought I'd do a bit of advertizing for AOL/MacAfee. I pay aol monthy for the anti-virus ware and as Caff says, it runs as soon as I switch on the 'pooter. :-)

Hi Jan you appear to be a bit in front of us re Christmas BUT you do not have a losing football team to support.
So my friend you are a bit of a royalist you and Valerie should get on well, but don't you find it strange after all this time that Diana's driver is now confirmed as drunk.Poor blokes dead and cannot defend himself how convenient.

Ah the cynical view of a non royalist.

Take care moordykspot

Sounds like you have acquired lots of good reading material. I love history;0) I love the stories about Henry the Eighth especially!
Yes, the chauffeur had been drinking and he murdered the Princess; perhaps not on purpose but indeed that makes me feel both angry and sad, even after all this time. I used to get teased about my name when I was in high school. They used to called me Princess Dianna or Lady Dianna and I didn't like it but thinking back I guess it was a compliment.

I love the kind thought that you had and still have by letting your son have his birthday before the Christmas decorations go up.

By for now,

Wish your son a Happy Birthday.  He and my Julie are the same age.  She was born December 4, 1961.  Small world !  I know her birthday has always been part of my planning for the holidays.  I always start my cards the end of November then start the decorating, then Julie's birthday, then finish the cards and shopping and then after her birthday and the cards are mailed....I wrap the presents.  That last step will hopefully take place soon & be done by next weekend. Have a good Sunday evening.  Linda in Washington

Happy 45th to your son, Jan! :)

I read that too.  I'm glad that it has been cleared up (re: Princess Di).  I would hate to think that someone would have deliberatly snuffed out the life of this lovely woman who was both beautiful inside and out.  She is one of my favorite people in the world.  I admired her very much.

The book you are reading sounds interesting.  Maybe you could leave a story here, sometime! :)

Have a wonderful week, Jan..

Happy 45th to your son!!  I hope he has a good one.
I would so enjoy reading that book on Elizabeth.  I've got all sorts of good books on the royals of England.
So sad about Diana. If she had still been under the protection of the crown I'm sure that would have never happened.  She was beautiful and I miss her still.
Enjoy your books....and have a good Sunday.

A very Happy Birthday to your son Jan. I do hope that Princess Diana will finally be allowed to rest in peace without any more specualtion as to what caused her sad death.  I think it`s about time after nine years for the sake of her son`s and close family too.

A happy birthday to your son and I hope he rung you to arrange the visit :-)  It was a shame that they found this out about Diana's driver a bit too late.  It will put an end to the speculations but it doesn't really help anyone does it??  Hope you enjoy your books xx

LOL, Jan, of course, we always blame AOL but Jeff is great with help and support.  I'm supposing you didn't have a virus because I think the McAfee does a bang up job.  Must have been a glitch.  Can't wait to see some pictures of your Christmas things.  Have a good rest of your Sunday. Love and xx Chris
