A Midnight Entry !

Just a very quick late entry ,to show you the pictures ,I took this evening ,I got a phone call from Derek last evening to say ,he wasnt going to risk the trip up here today .Well though he lives in Dorset he actually works in London near Heathrow ,and I'm sure you have all heard the news reports ,saying all planes have been grounded due to the fog,so though I was dissapointed ,I perfectly understood, and I would sooner have him safe ,We have had freezing fog here ,and all the water ways in the fens makes it particularly bad .

When I rang my Grandson  Stuart to tell him  his Uncle Derek wouldnt be coming ,he said could he still come over ,so he and Viccie his fiance' ,came over ,and so did Jean and Pete ,so we had a very pleasant evening together ,and swapped presents and cards ,the men had a beer ,and we had a cuppa and a chat ,Maurice worked last night and didnt have alot of sleep today ,he is fast asleep now on the couch ,So I decided to dash of an entry becasuse we will be busy tomorrow and I'm not sure if I will have time to post ,any way its now almost Midnight ,on the shortest day ! So I will wish you all a peaceful night With Love From

I'm sorry Derek couldn't make it but as you said, you'd rather have him safe. I've not done a thing for Christmas yet except the cards! I'm in denial, it's not really Christmas, it can't be so soon after the last one! Have a great Christmas Jan and a very happy and peaceful new year! Wonderful pictures, Jan!  I saw Jeannette mentioning freezing fog.  We don't have that here but it sounds rather vicious.  I'm glad you still had your gathering.  Have a peaceful night yourself.  Love xx Chris

Happy Christmas Jan!  We have had terrible fogs down here and it is a nightmare at the airports.  One feels so sorry for anyone that had plans to travel home for Christmas and is caught up in that mess!  Love the pictures and seeing everyone.  Your lounge reminds me of our lounge in Chester.  Hope you have a great day out and about today!

The fog has certainly come at a bad time. I'm expecting a friend here tomorrow, she works in France and I think she was flying in yesterday, I haven't heard from her yet, so not sure if she got here or not.

Hope you and Maurice have a good Christmas.

You are right Jan, better he is safe.  I would not like my family travelling in this weather.  Yesterday was not too bad but today it is very thick and bitterly cold.  Love the photos.

Not sure if i spotted my card or not LOL...Can't remember if u got gold or silver one...Nice to have just some time with family having a good old chinwag...We don't have weather as bad up here as it is down south...I do feel sorry for all those people stuck at the airport but it's out of anyones control what the weather is going to be like...Having had to drive in horrendously thick fog just back in oct then am glad your family didn't travel in it, it's far too dangerous    Caff xxxxx

Nice warm pics Jan! Popped into Ramsey today and that beautiful shop window didn't have condensation on it, but didn't have a camera with me :-(
I have been out in the garden planting bulbs which I got at a bargain price, so though it may be mucky and damp, the temperature really isn't too bad.
I do so hope the weather isn't too bad over Christmas so that every one can travel to see their loved ones :-)
Merry Christmas Jan & Maurice and to all your visitors to your blog :-D
