Friday fings

Good morning every one ,Ouch its not its afternoon! Oh well !.....Donna called this graphic  Chilly girl ,and yes I am ,I have just been out to the bin and it is cold out there ,but nice and cosy indoors .I mentioned the tornado that hit London yesterday, apparently seventy familys are waiting to see if they will be allowed back to their  homes today , some sadly have to be pulled down ,how awful for these poor people ,I feel so sorry for them ,yesterday they were going about their business no doubt making their Christmas plans ,Then Whoosh ,poor souls ,its a mercy no one was badly hurt ,A train was hit too ,how frightening for the passengers ,again thankfully no one hurt ...you just never know do you ?

Again Yesterday ,I didnt make my self very clear ,I meant the St Ives near Huntingdon in Cambridge shire ,But of course if it had been the Cornwall St Ives I would have gone to see Jayney and her dear Mum ,we could have swapped knitting patterns ! Nor did we come across the man with seven wives and all their cats, unfortunately ,if we had I would have taken a picture. he he he !

Talking of pictures I have just been to yesterdays entry in order to add todays one and guess what ? in the white box where my pictures should be is a website offering me ~100 fittest lads ~Topless beach~Adult contracts on line ~sex ~Into fat chicks!....... to name but a few. Err no I dont think so ! And I dont think I am very happy at my journal being used to advertise these sort of sites .

I had a lovely day on Wednesday ,at the senior citizens club, posh title but thats what it says on the Christmas card they gave me ,I was picked up by Len ,who kindly collects me and a couple more Ladies ,we left at twelve thirty ,this time ,and as we entered the hall it was decorated up for Christmas, and the tables were set up so nicely table decorations crackers etc ,We were served our lunch by the gentlemen from the Rotary club ,who had provided half the cost of the delicious meal ,The Town council had paid the other half , there were ninety people ! after lunch we were entertained by the town choral society ,and we joined in singing some carols ,really got me in to the festive mood ,so yes it was a really enjoyable afternoon.....and so on that very happy note I will wish you all ,a lovely day with love from

That Tornado that hit London was devastating it is bad enough at any time of the year but seems much worse at at Christmas time ~ thank God Jan no one was killed ~
If it had been St. Ives in Cornwall I know Janey would have made you more than welcome and it would have been lovely to meet her Mum ~
what are aol doing advertising such websites on our blogs ~ have you reported it to Journals Editor ?  not surprised you are unhappy about it ~ I did notice again the pictures have disappeared ~ but I didn't get that advert up ~ Sounded like you had a good day Wednesday and an enjoyable one ~ Ally

That was bad about the tornado. I hope most people are like me and just ignore the ads on AOL journals. Glad that you had a good time yesterday. Hugs, Helen

I can't understand why your pictures disappear!

We have our Christmas Lunch a week on Tuesday at school. The staff wait on the children first, then we get to have ours, I always enjoy that, although you have to be careful not to slip on the sprouts that always seem to end up on the floor!

The tornado was bad wasn't it? We should count ourselves lucky that we don't see very many of them over here. In the States they get it much worse. What a way to live! B. x

The tornado was tragic but one thing i don't like is how because it was london it had so much coverage...The one in wales last week didn't and neither did one down in the west country the other week too...They were both as big as the london one...It's horrible to happen at any time but just before christmas makes it worse...Have you checked for viruses or a trojan on your computer to see if that is what's caused the porn site instead of your pics to appear??? Glad you enjoyed your christmas lunch    Caff xxxxxx

I am really sorry to hear that your computer is displaying adult-oriented advertising instead of your photos. Would you mind sending me a screen shot of this? Both myself an a colleague have taken a look at this and cannot see the ads you are referring to on your blog.

There is no way that AOL would be putting those ads there -- we do not do business with adult entertainment companies, period. Has anyone else seen this on your blog? If you are one of Jeadie's readers, do you see these ads?

It sounds as though you have a form of spyware on your machine that is running these ads. You should run any spyware elimination programs that you have, including possibly:

Spybot Search and Destroy: http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html
AdAware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/download_and_buy/product_comparison_chart.php
AOL Spyware Protection: http://daol.aol.com/safetycenter/spyware?sem=1&ncid=AOLACM00170000000052

Please let me know how this all goes, and please do try to send me a screenshot.

Your luncheon sounds like a lot of fun!!  Glad you enjoyed it. Stay warm and cozy inside today!

Sounds as if you are having a great time just now . I thought it was another St Ives as the one in Cornwall would be a bit far for the day. Keep warm Love Joan.

Wow, can't believe you got those nasty adds.  I haven't seen that yet.  And I hope I don't.  Prayers for those families who lost their homes in the tornado.  That is very sad and this is the worst time of year for something like that to happen.  Not that it isn't bad at other times but you know, so close to Christmas.  I hope you have a great weekend!  Hugs and GbU, Shelly

Hi Jan,

The tornado certainly did some damage.  We had a nasty thunder/lightening/hailstorm just before it moved on to Kensal Rise, think we were very lucky it wasn`t us.  I do hope those poor people will be housed and given a great Christmas after what they`ve been through.   I`m glad you had a lovely time at your luncheon, it sounded like a fun time.  Hmm...don`t like the sound of that ad.  I hope it`s not the thin end of the wedge.

Hi Jan - and it would have been very nice to see you too, there's always a 'hello' &  'cream tea' waiting for you here.  Luv Jayne x

You need to report that issue with the X-rated websites to AOL, if they occur in the space where the pictures should be. Sounds decidedly dodgy, Jan.

I did read and hear about the tornado that hit London.  That is rather unheard of, isn't it?  And in December?  Horrible.  Well, Jan, I certainly wouldn't want those sites advertised in my journal.  I think I would contact AOL although I'm not sure what good it would do.  Sounds like another wonderful time at your senior's club.  Love xx Chris

I know Jan, the tornado was terrible. I saw on tv where roof tiles from the house over the road, were embedded in the peoples bedroom walls! how dangerous! they were so lucky they didn't get killed! Glad you had a lovely Christmas lunch! Fancy advertising those sites on your blog! cheek! Linda xx

I can't even believe, nor did I know, that England HAD tornadoes!  I thought that was US of A thing!  Shows you what I know! lol

I don't use AOL pictures, only photobucket, so I haven't had any problems with my pictures at all.  I have seen that problem on other's journals though..

Hugs
Jackie

I came from an area in the USA that had tornadoes often.  I had a little "weather box" in my house that would give off a loud warning alarm and then a message from the National Weather Service would come on and tell where the tornado was occurring and how severe it was.  It meant to get to the basement of the house as soon as possible, open a few windows to equalize the pressure, and pray!  I remember texting my husband, all the way over in the UK telling him that it was 1:30 in the afternoon and there was no light in the sky - pitch black.  He called me and kept me company until it was safe to go upstairs again.

Tornados are scary stuff!  I was shocked to see that those poor Londoners were struck by one!  They are all in my prayers.

Love,

Susie
