The day after Boxing day

Good Evening every one .Are you all recovering from all the shopping ,cooking ,buying cards and writing them and sending them off ,wrapping presents and opening them ! visiting and being visited Wow it goes on ...and where we have been looking forward to it all ,arent we all a little bit pleased its all over?I received such lovely presents, and have taken a couple of pictures of some of the lovely things I have .I got some nice bath products,a book ,a dear little birthday book ,Maurice bought me my watch ,my brother made the bird boxes ,and I told you I would tell you what was in the stocking from Jason ,he made a dear little Christmas cake and decorated it for me ,and some wine ,thanks Jason ,you are so clever ,and I loved it ....I got  £80 worth of M&S vouchers ,but Maurice is on nights now for three, so I have to wait until hes off ,Saturday or Sunday ,to go and search for the bargains ,I got chocolates  and biscuits ,So I was very lucky .

The TV programmes that,we  have been watching over Christmas have been mainly dissapointing ,though last night we watched a delightful drama called 'After Thomas'about how a little boy Kyle ,was helped by the arrival of a golden retriever Thomas, with his autistic problems and the dog helped him to unlock them .I am watching a profile of Connie Fisher at the minute who won the part of Maria on the west end stage .

And so dear friends thats where I will leave you for this evening, as I go to make myself some supper, and settle down with tonights viewing selection ....With Love From

I thought the television viewing was rather dissappointing over Christmas as well.  About the only thing worth watching was re-runs of the Two Ronnies, which are still  relatively new to me.  :-)  Love the watch, cake and little book!

T.V. has been awful over Christmas but tonight there is a Victorian mystery called The Ruby In The Smoke which sounds promising. Glad you had a nice time.  Lovely presents.

Hello Jan,

I`m glad you had such a good Christmas, isn`t it a shame it`s over so quickly?  I love your watch, it`s really elegant.  I got lots of nice pressies to including 2 bottles of perfume, tons of smellies and 2 great books.  I watched After Thomas and loved every minute, it was the only highlight in a very dismal Christmas TV schedule I think.

Lovely watch Jan - no excuse for being late now ;-)
Yes the TV progs were so-so. Most of the films I'd seen before or wasn't interested in.  I did watch 101 Dalmations today for the first time and really enjoyed that.
I'm waiting for Corrie to come on now, in the meantime I'm listening to Jose Carreras online, didn't know he was on Radio 2 Christmas Eve.  I think he's devine :-D
Have a nice rest everybody!
Best Wishes
Freda

Enjoy spending your vouchers :o) As you know from reading my entry i cried my eyes out through After Thomas...Extremely well acted, goodness knows how they managed to get the kid who was playing Kyle to act like he did...M still goes off on one like that and at over 6 feet tall and large build it is impossible to restrain him :o(  Hence i will be forever grateful to Robbie Williams for existing as his singing and music calms him down  Caff xxxx

Hi Jan,  We never outgrow our excitement about Christmas gifts, do we.  I love the watch..I went for years and never wore one, now I have a drawer full of them.  And don't feel dressed unless I have a watch on.  Looks like Santa was good to you.  Linda in Washington

Christmas was lovely but back to work today I went.  It was so slow and boring.  I hate to have things slow at work.  Only two more days and then another long weekend.  I have definitely had far too much to eat these past couple of days...lol..Love  xx Chris

Oh, my gosh, Jan!  It's been so long since I've visited to read your journal.  I had a great time catching up.  I'm so glad you had such a fun and festive Christmas.  Your new watch is beautiful!  Your husband has very good taste.  It was great to see my Christmas Card hanging on your office door.  Made me feel that the distance between us is a lot smaller than it seems.  I got such a kick out of your grandson's drinking straw glasses.  I know two other grandchildren who would love to have a pair of those.   LOL

I am sending wishes for you and Maurice to have a wonderful 2007.  Full of fun, good health, adventure and blessings.
Hugs,  Kathy

I love your watch Jan, very pretty and feminine! I'm glad you got lots of pressies you liked. I'm pleased Christmas is over once more, I don't think I'll bother with it at all next year, it's not a time of year I like with all the mad shoppers out! Have a good time spending your vouchers at the weekend! Jeannette xx  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/

Aww, I'm both a little sad and a little pleased that it's all over!
I wish I had seen that drama, I knew that it was going to be on but I wasn't sure when.  Ah well, it will be repeated at some point no doubt ;o)  Glad you had such a nice Christmas, lots of lovely pressies!

The presents are lovely and very thoughtful.  But, yes, I am just a bit glad it is all over.  I think the American Television selections after Christmas leave a lot to be desired, too.

Valerie watched After Thomas and then looked at our brainless Golden Retriever in a new light. He now replace me in her affections.Quite rightly so.
Take care Dave

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Boxing Day!
I'm stopping by journals to let you all know that I haven't forgotten about you (never could, I reckon) and that I'll be getting back into the swing of things real soon. I feel so empty without these journals, lol.
Happy New Year to you!

(PS: Now that I've gone private, everyone must reset their alerts for me in order to start getting them again. Quite a few people have asked me, so I figured I'd make it known if you haven't done so already, lol. Thanks!)

Hi Jan, Sounds like you had an excellent Christmas. Yep, I bought 100 stamps for cards, wrapped bunches of gifts for friends and family and then did the day after Christmas shopping.  That was rough, and I have no room for any of it so I am packing my closets full today!
My dogs are happy as they got tins and bags of goodies and chewies to last months! My daughter send some beautiful gifts from Guam <was the best> and from the other I'm actually getting a dishwasher yessssssssss! :))))) I have goodies I shouldn't eat, bubbles for the tub, jammies, slippers, frogs, heating blankie, cologne, tv, HomeMedic natural sounds waterfall <I love it>...anyone want fudge, cookies? I can pass it around, got 6 tins of cookies, cans of popcorn, assorted candy in cute boxes...get in line and I will pass it all out haha! I know I will be putting 10lbs on.
Definately off my diet after opening everything! Isn't Christmas fun?! Anyone want to be my diet partner after it's all gone?
:)) Doreen

Jan,
Your watch is beautiful but I wasn't able to see the bird boxes or the Christmas cake. The pictures wouldn't open for me. However, I am happy you had such a good time. I guess M & S Vouchers are like gift certificates and I know how much fun it is to go shopping after the Christmas rush is over. Have a good time and hope you find tons of goodies!
Happy 2007!
Dianna
